Project Description

A binding long-term Concession Agreement executing a comprehensive public-private partnership. The Government of Puerto Rico strategically delegates the financing, rehabilitation, and lifecycle management of the PR-22 and PR-5 critical highway corridors to Autopistas Metropolitanas de Puerto Rico (Metropistas), a consortium made up of Goldman Sachs Infrastructure Partners and Abertis Infrastructuras, SA

Scope of Work

Execute structural rehabilitation, deploy advanced traffic management systems and perform rigorous preventive maintenance to ensure optimal road safety and infrastructural resilience across the designated highway network.

Impact

Approximately 30 million vehicles transit these highways each year, generating $85.1 million through the automated toll collection system.
